Step 1
After a thorough inspection of your rug, we can share our recommendations to determine the best cleaning process. The pre inspection process includes:
- Inspect and learn as much as we can about your type of area rug including any variables that may affect the cleaning process.
- Measure the size of your area rug looking for any damage, wear or other sources.
- Take a close look at area rug fringes.
Step 2
We look for unwanted pet urine or other stains that might not be visible to the naked eye. The use of black light, or UV light, can help identify:
- Pet urine.
- Pet urine which has been neutralized.
- Residual soap, milk or other organic sources.
Step 3
Dry soil removal is achieved using our special Rug Badger dry soil removal system.
- Your area rug will be placed on our special floor rack system.
- The Rug Badger will vibrate your rug up to 40,000 vibrations per minute using soft leather straps.
- Dry soil is removed before wet cleaning is performed.
- We will then vacuum the surface fibers.
Step 4
When an area rug is submerged in our marinator it will be washed with a special cleaning agent to remove urine and odors associated with it.
- The marinator process will remove attached soil and most stains.
- We finalize this step of the process by flushing the rug at a rate of 80 gallons per minute.
Step 5
After cleaning your area rug in our marinator, your area rug will be treated with a special shampoo.
- Your rug will be transferred to our elevated flat table.
- Special shampoo is applied and scrubbed using soft counter rotating brushes with our brush pro scrubber machine.
Step 6
Your area rug is next placed top down to allow a power wash of all soaks and soils.
- The use of a purpose built elevated table, allows the rinse water to carry soaps and soils into the drainage system located under the table.
- Clean rinse water is used.
Step 7
After your rug is flat rinsed, it is then rolled up on our special rug sucker tube system.
- Using a powerful vacuum, we do a second and final rinse to ensure there is no soap residue to resoil your area rug.
- This process will remove 90% of all water, allowing your rug to dry quickly.
Step 8
Your rug will be dried flat or hanging depending on your area rug type or special needs.
- Industrial Air-Movers are placed strategically in the area of your rug to maximize drying efficiency.
Step 9
If you choose, we will now apply a special wool fiber protector.
- Wool fibre protector will help keep your area rugs cleaner, for a longer period of time.
- Wool protector makes the rug easier to clean next time.
- The process protects your area rugs from stains getting into the fibers.
Step 10
We will now post inspect and wrap your area rug in either brown paper or special plastic wrap for delivery or storage.
